I initially saw Mr Mahajan at his outpatients clinic at The Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. He advised me to have surgery to the little finger on my right hand. My finger was very bent and crooked due to Dupuytren’s disease. It was causing me discomfort and was problematic as I kept knocking it and catching it on things. I could not straighten it at all. I had my operation in Bradford Royal Infirmary on 29/12/16. The care I received was second to none from the junior staff on the ward, the nurses, anaesthetist, and theatre staff and of course Mr Mahajan. I saw Mr Mahajan in follow up clinic on Wednesday 4th January 2017. Both he and I were very pleased with the result of my surgery, and I could see a vast improvement even though the stitches were still in and my finger was swollen. I would recommend that any one suffering from this problem should have surgery to correct it under the care of Mr Mahajan and his brilliant team. After feeling self-conscious & old with my saggy turkey neck & dark puffy eyes for over 5 year, I made an appointment at Spire clinic Elland to meet Mr Mahajan in August 2016. From the start he made me feel comfortable with his relaxed soft spoken way. He discussed what realistic changes he could make for me, a face/neck lift procedure & upper & lower blepharoplasty on my eyes & he also told me honestly all the things which could go wrong with surgery so I was in no doubt this was a serious under taking. His honesty reassured me that he had my best interest s in mind. The cost would be £7130 & the procedure was booked to be done a month later. He wanted to ensure I had a few weeks to finally think my decision through before the operation so I didn’t feel rushed into anything. In mid-September I had the operation at Spire Clinic Elland. Mr Mahajan visited me early on the morning of the operation to go through what would happen. I was very scared but hoped it would all be worth it. I was told the operation may take 4 to 5 hours but in the end Mr Mahajan worked on me for 7 hours as he said he had wanted to do a good job. When I woke after the operation my eyes were taped closed, my head all secured in a support bandage, a heavy ice pack on my head & drains from behind my ears &, I admit, I felt claustrophobic & frightened. It was very quiet & I had a bit of a panic attack but the nurse came & held my hand, reassured me & put the TV on for some noise. I was well cared for by the staff at Spire Elland during the night & the following morning Mr Mahajan visited & said I could go home & return to see him back in clinic in 10 days. I won’t lie, the following week was very uncomfortable as the bruising & swelling came out & all I wanted to do was wash my hair but it wasn’t painful, just uncomfortable. I did say “never again” at this point & wondered what I’d done as I looked at myself in the mirror all swollen & black & blue but after 2 weeks when Mr Mahajan took out the stitches & removed the dressings I could see the amazing results & I had no doubt I had done the right thing. Now, 3 months after the operation, I am thrilled with the results. The face looking back at me in the mirror is not an old, tired looking 54 year old but a confident, younger version of me who now looks like the woman I feel inside. I would very much like to thank Mr Mahajan for his caring approach & his wonderful skills & can highly recommend him as a caring surgeon.

On a Thursday morning in September, I was told I had a cancerous growth which had to be removed. As I had one removed previously, I did not want to wait the 2-4 weeks it would take for an operation via the NHS. I decided to ring BUPA. They were helpful, and told me to go ahead with contacting a private consultant at the Elland Spire Hospital. The next dayI saw the consultant, who arranged the operation to take place 3 days later. It was all so easy. From the moment I entered Spire Elland everyone was pleasant and helpful whilst remaining very professional, so thank you all very much. Six days later I was sheltering from the hot Autumn sun on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean sea, whilst my stitches dissolved in their own good time.

Mr Mahajan is a gentleman and a true professional. It was clear to me at my first consultation he has a wealth of experience and expertise in cosmetic surgery. He understood my motivation for the procedure, whilst clearly explaining the risks involved. Ultimately the decision was mine. I was able to make an informed choice and this resulted my trust in Mr Mahajan, as a surgeon. Mr Mahajan is not one for small talk but he does listen to you. He follows through on everything he says and he has never cancelled or changed any appointments, even if he is in surgery late. When I had my surgery, Mr Mahajan met me when I was admitted and talked through what to expect when I went down to theatre. He was there when I woke up and he was very diligent in my after care, both as a patient in the hospital and as an out patient, after my surgery. Mr Mahajan has a great team, they looked after me with skill and care, which made me feel safe after a major operation. I cannot recommend him enough for the brilliant work he has done, he has totally changed my life!

Bilateral Pinnaplasty After 16 years of having ears which not only were completely different in appearance, but both of which also stuck out almost at right angles. I decided to take the plunge and get something done about them. Mr Ajay Mahajan Plastic Surgeon Of Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale offered to undertake the operation. From his very prompt response to the initial email to the appointment when the bandages were removed I cannot speak highly enough of his expertise and proffesionalism.
